Herbie Hancock interviewed by mediawhore Kurt Andersen on "Fresh Air for airheads," aka 'Studio 360.' I promise you, it's better than the Tommy Boy soundbite at the beginning would have you believe. The best part, pretty near the end, is hearing Herbie relate how he composed the melody for his song 'Maiden Voyage' after waking up on a plane, then proceeded to immediately forget it entirely, only to remember it during the recording session for a completely different song. If anyone can drag up a recording of Terry Gross interviewing Hancock, or the Marian McPartland Piano Jazz interview, I'd be much obliged.
BONUS: totally silly 'Wait Wait Don't Tell Me' segment featuring Hancock.
